Well, ladies, fall has arrived and with it - party time!
Every year I can almost feel the upswing in the community like a living, breathing thing. The hustle and bustle in Chicago steps up a notch as the semi-leisurely timing of summer drifts away.
For those that dress occasionally or part-time, the fact that it is getting darker earlier is always a comfort bonus. For those that are full time, the more forgiving (thank goodness!) fashions are back.
I am going to start listing all the parties that I know of here, so check back often. If you have any you know of, send them my way!

Pinkessence.com did not like this one bit!
This post was removed from pinkessence.com by a mod, but I liked it so I am putting it on our blog. It was written by our ver own Super Celeste! Without futher ado, here it is.
I’ve got vampire fever ....yep...there...I’ve said it.
Well ...it’s really more like a relapse. I first caught it way back when I fell in love a long long time ago with Anne rice and her angst ridden New Orleans vampires. Being the loyalist that I am, I never ventured out and read and other vampire novels, thinking them shabby second hand impersonations of the work of vampire queen herself.
Then came along Twilight.... Everywhere you turn, there it is. I just refuse to indulge. If I go to Borders one more time and bump into the ridiculously huge display I will surely scream. Whoever heard of teenage vampires in jeans and T-shirts, yuck? I want my Claudia. I want the bratty jealous murderous bitch stuck in a child’s form that hides dead bodies under porcelain dolls for revenge.
I want sexy seductive vampires...
I want vampires that tear humans apart for sport...
I’m just a traditionalist like that.
Well, I was until I picked up Dead Until Dark -A series of books that spawned the HBO series True Blood. Now I’m hooked....
Bar fights, drunks, sex and bloodsucking; what could be better. Is been a week now and I’m almost through the third in the series.
I think I may write a review of them soon..... Spread my little addiction around a bit.

Skin, Eyes and Clothes: Colors that work
Girlies . . .
There is a lot to be said about the best colors to wear for your skin type. A lot will compliment your eyes - but, really, it's more important to get a color that works with your skin more. For those of us with warm tones (like me!!) cool colors compliment the best: blues, greens, greys and fuschias. With cool tones - you girls can pull off red and orange waaayyy better that I ever could.
To see what you are, check out this site: http://www.ehow.com/how_4499371_find-colors-skin-tone.html

Summer Panties: Do's and Don'ts
Alright pretty girls! Summer is here and all those wonderful colorful panties are out in the stores. With all the heat that is to come . . . it's important to find the right panties to keep you fresh.
Nylon and lace are great - but when the summertime heat hits, cotton is the way to go. I know, I know - cotton panties aren't always the sexiest. And, they have the downsize of 'stretching' once worn for a bit. The benefit to nylon, lace, or spandex is the shape and feel of the panty. So, if you really MUST have your sexy panties then look for a synthetic/cotton blend to get a little of both worlds. (You can see the fabric makeup on the tag, girlies!) Anything with 50% cotton will be better than none for our 'down-south perspiration.'
And, for you diva's out there that simply cannot live without your adorable synthetic fabrics; make sure the crotch of the panties has a cotton layer insert. Then, at least, you have some absorbtion. Also, a bit of baby powder (or other scented powder like lavender or honey!) will keep you fresher than anything else. (Just don't go overboard or you will get your clothes all 'dusty' or worse . . . you will have caked powder when you take them off!) Just a light dusting will do.
So - good luck in your summer panty shopping! I hope this helps keep you dry and comfortable during those hot, dancing nights!

Quick-Beauty: For Rough Lips - From Miss Lola
Quick-Beauty: Rough Lips
When you can't find that little tube of cherry flavored Chap stick that always seems to disappear when you need it the most, dab some Vaseline instead. It has most of the same ingredients and it helps to really smooth out chapped lips. And Ladies , We live in the Windy City which is always wrecking havoc on Our beauty. If you do have some loose glitter than dab a pea size with the Vaseline to make your own homemade Lip Shine! I would not do any type of food coloring for it does sometimes have a tendency to stain lips but hey its all up to you! Make -up is all about having fun! Look for more Quick -Beauty tips to come!

Summer Makeup Tips and Tricks by Lady Celeste
Summer Makeup Tips and Tricks - How to keep summer makeup fresh!
Sweltering heat and humidity can wreak havoc with your summer make-up. Foundation may seem to melt and liquefy and no powder stands up to those little beads of sweat that seem to collect around the hairline. A modification of your regimen may be in order, and a few tricks will get you through a midday makeup meltdown. Simple tricks often make the largest impact in how you look and how you perceive yourself.
With summer here you've probably been through your wardrobe and dusted down your summer clothes, but what about your make-up bag? Now is the perfect time to give it a summer makeover.
Foundation...
Keep your foundation thin in warmer weather. Your skin tone will change, so don't be afraid to buy a bottle of your favorite brand in a darker color and mix it to match your skin. If it is too heavy, add some water or moisturizer to thin it out a little bit. Skip the foundation (I know some cannot) and opt for a tinted moisturizer. If foundation is necessary, limit the application to the center of the face, steering clear of the hairline. Do consider switching to an oil free formula for the summer months! This lighter coverage will fare better when temperatures heat up. Do not forget to look under your eyes, as this is wear you will find a lot of foundation build up when it is sweltering outside. If it happens, do not panic, simply keep some qtips or cotton swabs with you and remove as necessary....resist the temptation to reapply unless you feel it absolutely necessary.
Mascara...
Today's mascara isn't near as Conservative as it was years ago. With brushes, colors, and formulas available for just about every situation, your choice today is much easier whether you are a blonde, brunette or redhead. Summer may be the only time you need waterproof mascara. For exercising or swimming, use the waterproof formula to prevent the dreaded 'black eye' syndrome. Even if you don't anticipate the need, keep some on hand for that impromptu invite to the lake or the beach. There is nothing worse than running mascara! Waterproof mascara is great, but you'll probably need an oil-based eye make-up remover to take it off properly so that you do not get unsightly build-up.
Check back tomorrow for tips on eye shadow, lips, and powder!
